With the line-up the 2001 Mariners had... vs. Ownership focused on "Super High Profits" there was only one eventual outcome and it wasn't a World Series

Baseball needs a salary cap. More than any league ever did.

Olerud always wore a helmet at 1st base. I forget why, though.

That was Oleruds decision. From what I remembered he suffered a concussion and did it for his own safety

The mariners lose because the whole organization has a Japanese mentality, full of humility and slow moving well mannered crap. They need to purge that mentality and get aggressive. Enough of the slow moving crap

Seattle along with Oakland have had a regular who's who of rookies, all stars and hall of famers on the roster for the past 30 years and have never got it done.

@Me Tube dude... you couldn't have any idea how little I care. This is obviously something very near and dear to you tho. I wasn't looking for a debate on this subject. I was nearly stating what I thought was an obvious observation. Both Seattle and Oakland have had MAJOR major league ball player on there roster. I in no mea t to get caught up in this ridiculous back and forth with someone I do t even care to know, let alone get into a debate about 2 ball franchises I don't even like. Not only have you wasted my time, but you have wasted yours and everybody that took time to read this. I'm do t w oth this conversation now and prolly will never comment on another you tube vid again. Good day sir.

You had one or two years of Griffey Arod and Big Unit which did take NYY out of playoffs. But everything after that wasn't much with exception of maybe Edgar and again obviously Ichiro

@Andy Hobaugh but not all of them played together on one roster. Plus its unknown if Griffey would have suffered same injuries as he did as a Red.
Ichiro to me is the only HOF within roster of playoff Ms teams and he couldn't take team further alone.
